Well, I agree............... sort of.
When all is said and done, and Kibaki and Raila have come to some sort of accomodation, should everyone go home and pat themselves in the back for a job well done. I DONT THINK SO.
Whichever way you cut it, the victim is not Raila for having a presidency stolen from him, or ODM for having the opportunity to rule yanked away, nor is it Kibaki (for those ostriches who think someone is trying to steal a legitimately won election from him). No the loosers are the Kenyan people.
Here is how I see it.
- The common person has lost their property, NOT the ruling class on either side.
- The common person is not making a dime while this whole episode goes on
- The common man is the one HOW HAS LOST THEIR VOICE, which democracy is supposed to be all about
- The common man is the one who will have to live in fear of marauding gangs of various ethnicity coming for revenge
At some point, we have to stand up and let the government and all its agents and institutions know that they are the peoples servants, not masters.
SIRIKALI left with the colonialist. Let us stop this endless cycle of replacing one master with another one who looks just like me.
